Our utilities are all underground - have only lost power once and that was the Great Ice Storm of 2006 when we had 1.5" ice coating everything. We've had nothing but a nice snow here so I'm not too worried about my power. If it goes out, it probably wouldn't be for more than 8 hours.

well I've experienced that twice so unless im super lucky, it's not icredibly rare

Yeah because that snow in the mountains is the same as all-time record snowfall in the East Coast.
