yeah that was really horrible. I enjoyed the rest of his books for quick amusing reads with neat twists at the end... but that book was so stupid...

I also don't really "get" david sedaris. I have read a few of his books and they are entertaining but they aren't as funny as everyone thinks they are.

That sounds more like a high school teacher trying to be hip than actual literary acceptance.

Well I'm delighted to see you can't read but just merrily peruse through two or three words in a single post and start going on as though you had considered what you were writing. It's really no wonder you can't find anybody who will fuck you; you're unbearable.

Isn't it funny that the word peruse actually means "to examine or consider with attention and in detail", but we use it to mean glance over casually?

I'm not inclined to agree just yet Order, but you may be on to something.

I'm just saying that perspectives often get skewed over time. 35 years from now "Fight Club" may be lauded as some landmark literary work that affected everybody whereas in reality that is not the case at all.

Funny you mention Fight Club and compare it to Catcher, it's an interesting point and I would agree with you if not for this web-site, which ironically, has nothing to do with the movie other than taking its spirit and creating a brave new world while taking on the brave new world.
