the oscars are bullshit. all it is is producers taking academy members out for lunch. the awards don't have any bearing on quality for the most part. see: crash winning best picture

but i'm interested in seeing if avatar wins. i think best pic should go to Hurt Locker

a very original opinion that's never been noted, anywhere, at any time, ever.

As an Austrian and a movie fan I'm of course crossing my fingers for the fabulous Christoph Waltz, Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon (even though it's Germany's entry) and Michael Berger.

I met both Haneke and Berger (my girlfriend is attending the film academy in Vienna, where both are professors), and although Haneke is a douchebag and cocky as fuck in person, Berger is a very nice and kind professional.

I saw The Blind Side and it really was a good movie. Not a hard movie, or an edgy movie, but a well-done, mainstream one. And Sandra Bullock wasn't annoying to me, which is a first, so probably she deserves her Oscar nomination. That said, I just saw Precious tonight, and Gabourey Sidibe is effing amazing and should win.

Also, Crazy Heart is great. Probably my favorite that I've seen this year.

I like good movies and red carpet fashion.

Do all of you James Cameron cum-guzzling jizznauts remember Dark Angel? He fucking MADE that abomination. Any future opinions you will ever have on anything are completely worthless.

yup. ESPECIALLY for cinematography. woulda liked to seen noms thrown at jane campion, abbie cornish, and the dude from parks & rec who played keats' bff.

i'm glad AT LEAST those breathtaking costumes were nominated. however, i'm sure they'll throw the bone to the young victoria

So many movies I still need to see...

And someone explain this to me. I've never enjoyed a Sandra Bullock movie that I can think of. I don't know anything about her. But I find myself liking her and almost pulling for her in this.

WHY?!

because she seems like a fun gal that doesn't take things too seriously;

Perez Hilton: Sandra Bullock Threatens To Cut Meryl Streep!!

her and jesse james seem like a cool couple.

she's not the greatest actress in the world, but she's not horrible.

Gotta love Meryl Streep. I hope she actually kills Bullock.
