Default what do yall think about bill gates decision to spend 10 billion saving poor ppls liv

es?

on the one hand, seems like saving lives is a good thing, but on the other hand, isnt this gonna increase the number of poor ppl? seems like he could do more good passing out condoms or something, then 30 years down the line, a program like this woulc cost much less because there would be no more poor ppl

10 years from now, all those poor ppl will have had their 5 kids each, and it will cost 50 billion to inoculate them with the various diseases they are prone to contracting

Good for him, good for the world; I hope he gets on Oprah and mitigates the Hell out of the anti-vaccination insanity that has been going on lately. Or uses some of his money to put hits out on the people promoting the nonsense.

I am leaning about vaccines in bio ethics at the moment. Maybe it would be okay if Gates spent money on special poor people's vaccines where they are not just immunised but also sterilised. Kill two birds with one stone.

It's not insane to be aware.

I agree that the swine flu was hyped up bullshit, I'm talking about basic vaccinations like MMR and possibly finding one for malaria and nuts like Jenny McCarthy who are against them..

Pharmaceutical companies don't exactly have a clean background.

Quote:
in 2006, it was discovered that Bayer found out a vaccine it was selling in the United States was accidentally contaminated with HIV.

In order to cover its tracks, say the journalists in this video (below), Bayer pulled the vaccines off the market and sold them to consumers in Japan, France, Spain and other countries, where hemophiliacs were then contaminated with HIV due to the vaccine

Fine. Pharmaceutical companies are suspicious. That is something I can believe in. On the other hand, no scientific testing has found any proof that any of these allegations against MMR and malaria and so on have any dangerous side effects. Same applies to the vaccine in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand etc.

So this comes down to a kind of bad feeling about vaccines versus hard science.
