Oh man, that's a dangerous move. I would be quite interested in doing so, but am far too lazy to put in that kind of time and energy to reprogram my hands.

i did it a few years ago with no problems. takes a week or two to get up to qwerty speed, and after that you just keep speeding up. the problem i have now is that i have to use a qwerty keyboard at work, and that's where most of my computering occurs. adjusting is a lot harder when you have to keep using qwerty pretty much all the time

Nobody said it, but check the manufacturer of your scanner's website for updated drivers/software. My guess is the out of the box version isn't working nicely with Vista.
