It depends on how much you make and your line of work. A grocery store employee should get a dime or whatever every 3-6 months. A webdesigner should get 5% or so every year.. and so forth.

What he said. Hourly jobs, that are not office jobs/internships, I would expect something around every six months. Otherwise annually is pretty normal.

I have to wait until the beginning of September....Here's to 14 or 15%.

10 cents? are you kidding me? I've heard stories about people who have been working at ralphs bagging groceries for like 3 years and they're making $15 an hour.

I would say you have to wait for the one year mark then.

Raises should be given when one deserves them. Manditory raises are socialist bullshit. I have a spot in my stoen cold heart for yearly "cost of living" increases, btu they shoudl not be manditory nor should they take the place fo an earned raise.

You should definitely get a raise in line with inflation, just so you're not effectively getting poorer.

I don't know. I wish it was based more on performance. I only got a raise because everyone else was getting one. Yet I constantly produce 5 times more than anyone else does here. And I get paid the same as they do.

No, but you can learn how to play the game. Also, your raise can be used to buy chicken that isn't burned.
