I probably would have had friends who were and allowed myself to be somewhat affected and surrounded by hippie culture, but most likely I wouldn't have totally subscribed to it as a way of life. But what do I know. I couldn't really say.

From experience I can say the majority of "dirty hippies" were hippie trainees. Most hippie friends of mine used the shower for a lot of things besides cleaning. The same applies to me.
