That's what my little sister used to do, before we realized she was autistic. Now she's taken to moving her arms around in circular motions, so we've decided to put wash rags in her hands and stand her in front of the sliding glass door in order to put her to good use. I hope the stupid bitch gets carpal tunnel -- serves her right for being all aloof and snooty.

I hope your parakeet isn't autistic.
