"The Rules of Attaction"

has anyone seen or heard of this movie? Its based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel and I loved American Psycho. supposedly the main character played by Dawson is the cousin or nephew of Patrick Bateman in this film.
The style is supposed to be "Kubrick-ian" and I'm always down with ripping off the cinematic greats. I saw a trailer that looked pretty much like a the trailer for "Dr. Strangelove" and in one of the ads I saw a shot of Dawson standing out in the snow that looked like it came exactly out of "The Shinning".

anyway, yeah, wanna see but unless I take an hour bus ride to Toronto to see it, its not gonna be around here anytime soon.

anyone else luckier?

Looks like a pop culture teen flick to me...but, maybe Im wrong...i usually am...hah

they're marketing it like that to get the teen market. the word of mouth is that this is actually an edgy film.
I heard (awhile ago in a script review of AICN, so I might be wrong) it opens with a girl passed out doggy style getting rammed from behind and then she's puked on.

now THAT sounds cool!

Saw it last nite. Pretty cool. Opens with a Cure song playing. Sean is actually Patrick's brother. Patrick was in the movie, but the scenes were cut. A different actor did Patrick's parts though

yeah i dunno i read all of bret easton ellis' books a long time ago and i liked this one altho in my head it's getting a little confused with the others that like go along with it. i hope they don't fuck it up... also wasn't patrick his cousen in the book not his brother or am i making that up. and it really sux they didn't get the same actor i was like wonderijng if they would cause that woulda been rad. um yeah i haven't seen it but i kinda want to but i have no money for things such as movies... i'm a bad pirate supporter...

I disliked this book. I mean it is pretty much a good portrayl of what college life is like for alot of people. I like the "death of romance in the 80s" story to it also but other than that the book was kind of boring I thought.

btw, American Psyco was great
