Question does anyone here use one of those Fostex multitrack recorders?

i was wondering how good the X-12 4 track might be, and if i should try getting it at ebay or just going ahead and spending the 100 ( i think it's around that ) for a new one
???

I wouldn't buy any recording device with heads on it used. Spend the $100 bones.
