Are we troubleshooting your router? If not, STFU.

ok that's if you want to blindly take the word of the tech support agent. i wish i could say otherwise you're lucky if the person you're talking to knows anything.

empirically speaking you wouldn't know if it's the router until you bypassed it.

is all i'm saying.

just chill the fuck out will ya.

You chill the fuck out. I already said verify by ping testing directly connected to the modem. You haven't brought up anything that hasn't been covered.

got up this morning and pc connected straight to the router, no net again, had to reset the router

tried pinging google, it timed out 1/23, 1/32, 1/27 times

i did trust what the tech guy at my isp said but in fairness over the last couple of years there have been a handful of occasions where there has been a problem and they've told me straight away if it's been a service issue or a reboot/reinitialise needed.

they supposedly run diagnostics and ask me what lights are on on the modem, if they're solid or flashing etc to see if the modem is receiving data, so they're not just trying to get me off the phone. they're actually pretty good compared to my experience with my old isp, who did just want me off the phone if i called.

gonna try a factory restore this morning and if that doesn't work i think we're just going to pick up a new router.

ach fuck it

my company can pay for the router and i've spoken to my brother and got a reply from another tech dude this morning who both agree from previous experience that this is the first sign of a dying router, gonna get a new one.

What's so fucking hard to understand about this is your attitude towards me. So I neglected to insert the word "likely". I considered using it when constructing the sentence in the first place, but based on my previous experience with this sort of problem, I decided against it. Quit being such a gaylord.

Yeah like I said that's probably the best option.
