i've got no idea, sorry. check that forum, perhaps.

the only other reason you might need the reciever is if the sound bar didn't have enough inputs for all your stuff . or, if you were interested in passing video and audio through the reciever so that clicking one button would switch the video and audio to right setting, so you don't always have to be switching the input on the tv and the input on the soundbar to make sure they match.

yeah but package deals often sacrafice sound quality for low cost.

as far as a tuner goes, i mean if you not playing on sat radio any of them should be fine, just make sure the watage is matched to you speakers, witch is probally not even an issue with the soundbar, i agree my hand at this is a bit old.

Ill pass everything through the woofer of the soundbar
and turn off TV speakers. Ill then pass video from woofer to TV so the audio is automatically pushed through withou needing to switch inputs.

okay, cool. i just assumed the woofer would just have a couple of audio inputs only, but it sounds like you're set.

3 HDMIs, 1 coaxle, 2 audio and something else. Plus HDMI video out. Pretty sweet rig actually.
