at what point would you call it a success? i mean, i wouldn't call it quitting as much as i would making it a really long time before i smoked my next cigarette.

If you can't stand by a decision to kill yourself, what can you do? In an act of defiance and a symbol of smoker unity everywhere, I am offically going to go for a smoke break right now. Each drag I take will mourn each drag that you do not. We miss you, smoke brother, and hope you find your way back someday.

this is true, most people who quit just end up smoking very rarely. not a bad thing, much better than smoking regularly, but still makes you a smoker.

I stopped because of health reasons
it sucks because i didn't WANT to stop at all. Which makes it more difficult, and it shouldn't, because i enjoy being able to breathe properly

A friend of mine doesn't smoke. He used the term "stopped." He said as each day went forward he had less pressure by saying that he "stopped" one day at a time.
Quitting---never smoking again.
Stopping--not smoking one day at a time.
He got the idea from AA.
Whatever you call it, it works only as long as you choose not to smoke. If you want to smoke, you eventually will.
Congrats and continued success and let us know how you're doing. It's the one vice that I can't kick. Deep down inside I want to smoke, ergo I smoke. It's like saying I wish I didn't smoke but won't stop.
