doing things by yourself - Page 2

I do stuff alone all the time. My boyfriend and I sometimes have opposite hours at work, and he's often got meetings in the evenings- so I go out to lunch/dinner alone all the time. I've loved doing that since high school. I always have a book with me anyway, so it's nice. You don't have to try to make conversation with friends and then try to talk in between bites or whatever.

And going to the movies alone just makes sense. It's not like you TALK (or at least, you're not supposed to) during a movie anyway. The only exception to this rule is when I go to the midnight movies at the Inwood. You've got to go with friends to see Pee Wee's Big Adventure or Trainspotting or something. But I would say that out of the last 10 movies I've seen, 8 or 9 of them have been just me.

It's also a hell of a lot cheaper.

I'm a both kind of person, do things with people makes me hunger for time alone, doing things by myself makes me hunger for company.

I like going to the pub alone because there is always someone i know in there anyway. I dont go to clubs by myself. But then clubs are fucking retarded places anyway (unless by chance they play anything good, not fucking usher- YEAH!)

I dont like going out to eat alone, but i could do it if i had a book, because then that signifies my intention to the others that i planned for this and i havent been blown out. I really need to care less about what other people think, because quite frankly, they are probably idiots anyway.

I won't go out to eat alone, because I feel really self conscious. I wouldn't go to a pub/club alone either, because I'm not a huge fan of drinking or talking to random people.

I have no problems going to a cinema alone though. I hate when someone comes to the cinema with me and then hogs the armrests or sits eating loudly. I prefer to sit alone to concentrate on the movie.

Gigswise I don't mind going alone if it's that or miss it. Seeing Bjork by myself was fucking awesome, but I had a great time at a dEUS gig where tons of my close circle of friends were present.

I try to do everything alone.. I am always around people for work/school.. so I like doing errands, dinner, movies, fishing, etc. alone.. but a few of my friends try to force themselves on me so I have to dodge them.. my best friend always tell me to stop being such a "loner".. I can't really go to bars alone though .. you would think there was no pussy around here with the way those animals behave

i do a lot of things alone. i eat most of my meals alone, i drive 2+ hours a day alone, i go to probably 65% of the concerts i see alone. though i eat alone a lot, most of the time i'll get take out, i don't often sit down to eat at a restaurant alone. i don't go out to bars or anything alone. i don't really enjoy those places unless i am with a group of people that i already know.

I hate most people. There are times when I look at people and I see nothing worth liking. I don't need to look past seeing them to get all I need. I've built my hatreds up over the years, little by little.

The last few weeks, ever since I broke up with my significant other, most of my friends have been crazy busy at university or college. So I've been doing most of the stuff I'd do with them... alone.
Not a lot of fun, but I can't do nothing all week long.

Though I must say most things are extraordinarily boring without company. From grocery shopping to record store browsing, from going to the movies to going to concerts.
I hate it.

i eat out to relax, taste something nice with no effort required, have a peaceful moment with just myself (or hear musicians if any) but in an urban setting, or because i don't have time to go home before going to see a play. of course i don't actually go to a place that i need to drive to.

i only feel awkward when it's a classier place that expects you to make a reservation, or that is just plain loud... well i go to those places with my girlfriend.

don't make it awkward by judging our need for solitude!
