How to best combat idiotic pro-life protesters

Obama is speaking at my school's commencement, and a shitton of people, most of whom have no connection to the school, are planning on bringing a massive protest to the ceremony. because it's a catholic school and Obama likes to feast on aborted fetuses. or something.

i am going to be there that weekend. what action would you all take if you were in my position.

i mean, it's goddamn president of the united states. if mccain had won and he decided to speak at my school's commencement, i'd still think it was pretty goddamn cool. but. ugh.

b) dress as clowns and mimic what they're shouting. i saw an article about this happening at a white power rally. a big group of people in clown suits stood near the group of shouting white power supporters, and they would shout things like "white flour" while tossing handfuls of flour in the air, or "wife power" while hoisting up the women in the group. apparently it drove away the white power protestors, so maybe it's worth a shot. (fun, possibly effective)

Aren't they giving him an honorary degree? I thought that was what the controversy is about. I don't think that people are only mad because he's going to be there to give a speech.

That said, the only thing more annoying than people who travel to protest things are the people who protest the protesters.

serious answer: the more attention you pay to protesters, the more power and coverage you give them. just ignore them, and see if you can catch a glimpse of the president.

i went to an anti nazi protest like 3 years ago. the nazi protest itself had about 20 people whereas the counter protesters exceeded 4000. swat team everywhere. i kinda went just to see real live neo nazis (didn't see them really). in retrospect it just seemed redundant. like, yeah, no shit nazis are fucking stupid.

when i was in college there was a klan rally downtown in memphis, and there were about 20 in the rally but the protesters numbered in the hundreds. they started throwing things at the klan members and things got out of hand because the police defended the klan members and the protesters started throwing things at the police. a full scale riot erupted, and my bus, which was parked outside the mechanic's where it was being fixed had its windows smashed. so anyway, what do we see on tv? a few seconds of the klan rally and then 3 minutes of black people rioting and throwing things.

my guess is that sent the klan's message better than a regular, ignored rally could.
