Woman, 95, battered by thug

Police have released photographs of a 95-year-old woman who has been repeatedly punched by an intruder while she lay in bed.

The pictures show Doris Marr, from east London, in hospital with two black eyes.

She was attacked by a man she found searching through her wardrobe.

The man, thought to be in his twenties, punched Mrs Marr in the face several times after she asked him what he was doing.

He then continued to search the flat but attacked her again when he heard her calling out.

It is thought the man got into the first floor flat by kicking in the front door, then escaped after the attack in the early hours of Wednesday.

A police spokesman said: "This was a cruel and brutal attack on a woman who was utterly defenceless."

He added: "The suspect appears to have kicked in the front door, so we are sure someone must have heard him and are appealing to anyone who heard anything to contact us immediately."

Mrs Marr is being treated for facial injuries at Newham General Hospital.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 9in, of medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing white trousers, a white hooded top and white trainers.

that made me sad.

where i live, some kid one year out of highschool was arrested for raping an 82 year old lady. he said he was really drunk, and didn't remember anything, and apoligized, but he didn't apologize for doing it, just that happened.

then the dna results came in, and he was innocent. he'd been in jail for 3 weeks, and all the press pretty much said that he did it. that's really fucked. he's mexican i think.

he didn't do it, but some sick perv did. what is the deal?! leave the old poeple alone!!!
