One friend of mine in Chicago got it but I'm sure we will hear about it before then.
Plus is that he said he would give me whatever the extra gifts are.

A representative from the Cleveland Smashing Pumpkins Fan Club supplied us with this first-hand review of the recent show in Cleveland on Nov 1, 2008.
Her account includes a first look at what fans can expect from the VIP ticket experience
Review supplied by ClevelandPumpkinsFans
The force that is Smashing Pumpkins invaded the Palace Theater with a show people will be talking about for years to come. I'll get right to the point and say this was the best Pumpkins show I've attended so far.

As one of the lucky 5-star VIP ticket holders, I was treated to an unexpected surprise: Billy invited us to attend soundcheck and listen to the rehearsal of some new songs before the show. The March Hare made its first-ever appearance, complete with tambourines, bongo drums, and marracas. Stirring and primal, this song is unlike anything I've previously heard from the band. They then went into a rehearsal of Owata, an acoustic song that recently debuted at the Bridge School Benefit. After playing the new songs, Billy and Jimmy spoke with fans and did the usual autograph-signing and photo-opping. Billy was open and relaxed as he answered questions and joked with people in the group of 50 or so.

Showtime rolled around and the crowd was greeted with 99 Floors, Owata, and Sunkissed. A Song for a Son, incredibly haunting and dark, was the first heavy song of the evening. I can see it becoming a new favorite among fans old and new.

The wall of sound (and that is exactly what it was as it crashed over my anxious little ears) was just beginning and didn't let up until the final encore. The Pumpkins shredded through a bombastic setlist of tracks ranging from old hits to Machina and Zeitgeist heavies. Each worked the crowd into a screaming, dancing, chanting frenzy. Not one seat in the entire theater was occupied as everyone appeared to be standing and fully engaged in the music.

Speaking of crowds, Billy announced last night that this was the best show he's ever played in his life. I was deeply touched regardless if he makes the same remark at other shows or not ( I highly doubt he does). The fact is, the band clearly had a wonderful time and so did the fans.

To wrap up the show, we were treated to what can only be described as a kazoo symphony. This is one thing you have to see in person to truly appreciate. Billy laughed so hard during the middle of the kazoo'ed version of We Only Come Out at Night that the band had to start over from the beginning. Talk about awkward moments! It was wonderful to see that level of silliness and fun. I think it speaks volumes on the evolution of the band in a live setting.

The Pumpkins closed the show with a kazoo rendition of the famous tune Everything is Beautiful by Ray Stevens, a fitting tribute for fans and musicians alike who fought through life's struggles to arrive at a sense of peace and self-acceptance. It was a touching parting gift from a band of misfits who continue to dance to the beat of their own drum 20 years later.

Here's to 20 more!

Supposedly, you get some free gift if you buy a 4 star or 5 star vip ticket. Anybody that's gone know what it is?

I think the free gift may be a tshirt. When my wife and I ordered ours they asked what size shirt we wear. I hope they invite us to the sound check for the Chicago show.

I got 4 star vip for the show last night for 80.00 each with the promo code, so I was expecting row 15-20. I had section 2 row b seat 7 and 6. Thats 2nd row from the stage center. I was showered with corgan spit and picks. Vip turned out to be great. I saw the list - only 8 people got VIP tickets for the CT show.
