The Yankee Stadium closing ceremonies were awkward as fuck

They had years to plan this, yet they settle on having actors portray dead Yankee greats?

The All-Star ceremony put this to shame. And then they go from Paul O'Neal to ... Bobby Abreu. Seriously?

I give credit when deserved - that clusterfuck was a disgrace to what the Yankees are. The All Star ceremony was infinitely better.

Bernie's reception was awesome (too bad the Yankee FO treated him like shit), and Randolph sliding into second was cool. But, I mean, Joe Giardi and El Duque aren't Yankee Legends.

At least they had big Red Sox fan Julia Ruth Stevens throw out the first pitch.

Along with no mention of Torre, I guess Yankees PR decided to play it safe and made no mention of Roger Clemens in the ceremonies, nevermind that admitted PED-users Andy Pettitte and Jason Giambi were honored there. What about The Boss, George Steinbrenner, was there any mention of him there? I know he couldn't make it because of health reasons, but did they at least mention him last night?

This would explain why Cabrera finished the season in AAA. That doesn't mean Bernie had anything left in his finals years, and they offered him a ST invitiation and he declined saying he demanded a guaranteed deal. So it's his own fault for being too proud to accept that he was aging.

Also they didn't mention managers, they just did players or I'm sure Torre would have been mentioned.

Dear God, I hate the Yankees. They're building the exact same fucking stadium, like, a block down the road and they're treating that shit with all the reverence of a state funeral. Fuck you. I wish someone would suitcase nuke the new stadium just so the Yankees would be sad and not have a place to play.
