for $2k, i'd recommend a late 80's/early 90's honda. an accord, prelude type of car. great gas mileage, very dependable, low maintenance, and the resale value will pretty much stay with it.

and it sounds funny, but look into some ebay auctions....as well as http://losangeles.craigslist.org

at present moment, it does need need some repairs. it needs a new thermostat/controller thingie for the radiator fan. it's not kicking on lately. it also needs new brakes on the front tires. but i'm fixing that stuff in a few weeks.

i'm in sl,ut. heh. it'd probably actually be cheaper for you to find something local. there's lots of good deals on used cars..

oh yeah, that is pretty far. i think by the time the car got here to cali, i would either have a hole in my pocket from all the tow fees, or else the car would be on fire

i have a 98 ford escort ZX2
since i'm leaving for the army sometime this year, i have friends bidding for it. right now it's only at $900.
the only thing wrong with it is 4 bumper stickers, which are actually on the back window, so you can get at them with a scraper

other than that, there's just quite a few miles on it.
