Placencia, Belize. Those pictures are from when I went last year. It's the perfect sr trip for people who don't want a sr trip. No resort ettiquite, no wristband to wear the whole time for your meals and drinks, no foam parties and carlos obrians. just a house and some sandals. Placencia is this little town on the coast and is just...perfect. We're going to be there for lobsterfest (the biggest weekend festival in the country) and have a great time.

*sigh* i never got to go on a senior trip

I wanted to go to the bahamas for spring break this past year. I know it's also a hot spring break destination, but i figured it wouldn't be as annoying as panama city or cancun or s. padre. unfortunately, that didn't end up happening. I did make it to Las Vegas w/ my parents for a few days. a free trip is always nice.

nice. I was on the island of Roatan (off the coast of honduras) this past reading week. Sounds like you're going to a pretty similar place, though maybe even less touristy.
i miss beaches.... sigh
