i don't have any football stories, but i have a couple of stories from the last couple games of my high school hockey career. our team was in this big AAA tournement which is way higher calibre than our AA team, and annually in this tournement we host one of the tournement games at our rink in our home town since it's like 30 minutes from the city, and basically the entire town goes to this game. it's during school, and the entire high school goes, and middle school, and it's just a very exciting game.

we were losing 6-0 nothing in the third period, and we were we short-handed and i iced the puck, my teammate skates down the ice and smokes their defence in the corner who had the puck.. he passed the puck out to me in the high slot and i one-timed it in the net top-corner. i had never taken such a beautiful shot in my life. the ref didn't count the goal because their player had never gotten up after he got hit in the corner in the two second duration. a player speared me in the back of the leg after i shot, too. while one of my players was arguing with the ref over the call, i skated up behind the guy that speared me, shoved him, and when he turned around i decked him so hard and he toppled right over. the end. the only thing that made this soo cool was that this was the most amount of people i had ever played in front of, and i was the only person that put on any type of display for the crowd.

later that day, we had another tournement game at the moncton colliseum, which was a pretty big deal for us because it's a big rink and home of a QMJHL team. we were playing the top AAA team in the province. we were up 3-1 and i intercepted the puck inside their blue-line deked past 2 guys using moves i've never even thought of trying in a game.. ended up in the corner, ended up skating out from the corner pulling the puck back between my legs and spinning off a check backwards and putting a backhander far-side off the very corner where the cross-bar and post meet from like 12 feet out. i am the farthest thing from a finesse player, and up to this season i was usually the worst player on my team, and this was by far the coolest goal that anyone on my team had scored all season, and it made up for getting that goal called back on me earlier that day in front of my entire school. we ended up losing that game 7-4.

i doubt that anyone read all this, but to sum it all up, i miss high school sports.

I think from the tapes that Jczeroman is/was a better player than me. I was very small (5'11" 135 lbs) but very quick. I only had one person that I was ever defending catch a pass on me. I played cornerback and wide receiver. I returned punts also.

Yea, we did the same thing. I was corner and more of a flanker/back type reciever. 5'8" 165lbs. People caught passes on me, but I can onyl remember one guy actually scoring and that was on a pass that wasn't quite my responsibility. I was all-league Defensive Back, but since we missed the playoffs I didn't get to participate in the All-state voting.
