what do you think about getting one through my credit union in
florida? you think that'd work? i should probably call them. .

i don't like the idea of owning a credit card, mostly that i'm a
compulsive spender kinda makes it a bad idea. i need one to
travel with. that's all that is.

Go to your bank, get a Visa or MC checkcard. Same thing, and you won't be tempted to use it for major purchases because using it is the same as spending cash. You'll have it for traveling though.

Yeah, get a widely accepted one and just use it as a debit card and you'll be fine. Just make sure your limit covers anything you intend to buy with it, and you can get some which donate to charity for every $1 you spend or whatever. Oh, some offer insurance on goods you order on the internet too, just in case they never show up or arrive damaged.
