Not if he was in the filthy French side (which, actually, is the much better and cleaner half).

me and my dad went to the dutch side and had a blast. my mom/sister/grandma were in the french side and said it sucked ass and the people were snooty.

The difference is the French side is quieter and not full of duty-free liquor shops. And much better restaurants and not nearly as overwhelmingly crowded. That's why I commented.

And much better restaurants. I don't like St. Maarten though - one of my least favorite Caribbean islands for some reason.

No worries. I think we've had this debate before, about islands.

Eh, maybe it was someone else. St. Thomas is a shithole that should be nuked - however it's the gateway to St. John thus it has to be kept (St. John is one of the more beautiful Caribbean islands).

I should try to do this list. I'll start by saying I've been to every U.S. states except North Dakota and Idaho.

well the resort i was at in st. thomas wasn't awful by any stretch. it probably was the weakest of the resorts i've been too, but uhh, yeah. i've been to some good ones. (thanks grandma!)

i was only in st. john's very briefly. and i was like 12 or something.

The Westin? Resorts would be different - but the rest is just a giant tax-free strip mall of shitty diamond and t-shirt shops.
