I have this one book of "1003 hand signs" or something that I worked on about 3 summers back I guess. I still remember some words like (grand)mother and father and robber and divorce. It was kind of fun. I think it's best to learn sign language with a friend though because if you're the only one who knows it it's kind of boring. heh.

It was kind of fun learning though. The signs were pretty logical so they were pretty easy to remember.

my boyfriend was deaf for the first four years of his life...so, we use it all the time- even though his hearing is fixed and okay. it's a novelty that we can talk about people right in front of them...

my godson's mother (my friend) is deaf...

Did you learn Signed English first? I'm really worried about going from Signed English to A.S.L. What are the main differences? I know that there are many more words for just one sign and they aren't initialized and whatnot. What about sentence format?

Subject/noun first, then description/verbs, I think. More or less.

I took two years of ASL in high school and I remember almost none of it. Just the lousy alphabet. Damn, this is bad.
