pfft. you can't be against somethin like that. there are lots of things that are worse than smokin weed (wich is not really a bd thing). but stupid stoners who get high whenever they get the friggin chance... nyaaaaaargh! excess causes deviant behavior.

There's nothing wrong with smoking occasionally. However, I have met people who smoke everyday to escape their pathetic lives, and that's not cool. They also become really, really stupid if they do it for too many years. perma-stoned. not attractive.

good point, but i've thought a lot about how i'm going to deal with my ky kids' drug use, should (read: when) they ever decide to do drugs.

Ideally, I would be completely open with them about it, guide them through and offer as much help as I can so they can do it safely.

My parents know I do drugs. I know my parents did drugs. What have they done? Nothing.

that's pretty much the way it is with my parents. like, they know i smoke weed, they know i've done harder drugs but i don't do them anymore, which is true except for the occasional (once or twice a year) mushroom trip.

when they learned that i had done acid and e and stuff they were none too happy and definitely did something about it.

If you define "deviant" as not corresponding to general social norms as I do, then smoking ganja is not deviant as far as I can tell until you get to be around thirty. But if you define the term using the law as the primary guide, it is deviant because it is still technically against the law, although the gradual de-criminialization of weed may change this someday. Now if you will excuse me, I have a bowl to smoke.

No. It's something people do for fun. When I have kids, I want to raise them just like my mom did for me. She was always very open with me, telling me of her experiences tripping on acid in death valley and such, she just wants to make sure that I'm safe and what I'm doing is not interfering with my life. I got in trouble for getting caught smoking in the house once, but that was just because it's illegal and she's a doctor and doesn't want to lose her license. Actually the other day I had a long conversation with her on why we think it should be legalized and what an embarrassment our government is. I wub my mummy.

all the pot heads I know really annoy me. take yesterday, for example. we had a field trip to the boston museum of science. they got high in the bathroom on the bus. I could care less what they do with their time, but I can't stand their incessant pot talk.
