I dont know what it is like in the US but over here there seems to be some kind of clandestine save the planet thing going on. I like the planet, every day i take some sort of pleasure from it. But this environmental bandwagon has started to piss me off.

im looking at this plastic bag i have in front of me, in case you didnt know, every time you go into a supermarket in England and ask for a carrier bag, you either have to pay an extortionate price for it or get evilled by everyone in the shop like you just forced a bukkake party on their 4 year old daughter. This bag says (in big fuck off letters) I CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT

What kind of shit is this, am i the only one that can see through this exploitation of the ignorant trend followers? this is a follow on from those stupid fucking charity bracelets, where businesses are taking advantage of people by looking to make a quick profit off of the environment.
The only reason these companies are doing this is for public relations and economic gain!

all well and good, save the planet (allegedley) and make a bit of money on the side. I just wish people would see this as it is.

i heard something about a grocery store in halifax thats stopped giving out plastic bags altogther, making the customers use the reusable ones.

they are good small steps but the planet is fucked anyway. the stuff you put in the bags is the bigger problem, when you buy stuff shipped around to different continents theres is more energy and waste created than whats in those little bags. in the comming years it wont be feasible anyway. you chicken eating fucks will have to grow your own chickens in you backyard, and then you'll have to protect them, from your neighbors with guns. you will see more of that pickton shit of feeding humans to animals. its going to be basicly lawless.

i live on a street that is pretty much all bars. possibly the most densely bar populated area per squarefoot in the world. the cops are all over this area now. the street is getting filled with horse shit from the cops horses. noone is policing the police, they arent getting fines. theres big piles of shit outside. meanwhile i can no longer walk and nothing is being done about it.

thats why i get fucked up, i dont want to see this shit storm thats comming. its already started.. i cant move from the floor, ive been reading this shitty messageboard for days. fuck it, im going to get drunk

It is exploitative and trend-baiting. But I'd rather have exploitation to help the environment rather than something like making people want the biggest SUV. The ends justify the means in this case and I have no problem with it.

there's a market here in SD that tried to charge me 15 cents for each plastic bag or told me i had to buy the cloth ones. i have some cloth ones at home but not with me.

i told them that i wasn't interested in their policy and that if they don't bag my food for free, i'm not paying for any of it

and that is why some minimum wage schmuck spent the next 20 minutes returning all of my food to the shelves
