Default anyone else try wii fit?

its pretty cool, it takes your fitness age and bmi levels and then sets a goal for you if you want to lose weight. there are instructors for you to do stuff, there's a yoga guy and you do all these poses and it checks your balance.

there are also soccer, hula, skiing, balance, and rhythm games.

I think it's more about somehow losing weight and/or becoming flexible.

the board you stand on measures your balance and your weight and there's a bunch of activities you can do on it

i dont think its extremely effective or something but im pretty sure it could work, its just about staying active

Rather than getting my ass outside, I'm going to post on Netphoria about a game that tricks me into not being a big fat fatty.

My mom wants to get it. And that Williams pinball game that's out.

Post back in 6 months with your results. So far I haven't been convinced.

Is there a fair bit of motion involved with the controls? I'm kinda bummed they didn't include the awesome Star Trek table, though.

Not really. You can shake the machine but it will tilt it like a real one.

Similar to the story from a few weeks back, BBC Health has a video up today tackling the issue of another poor little girl who was told she was overweight by the game. Looking at the girl it is obvious that she is slender, and the fact that she told her mother she wanted to go on a diet after the game's diagnosis is very disturbing.

Weight is a bit of a sensitive issue with me, having recently spent the better part of three years living with someone with a serious eating disorder. While I can certainly understand that the issues of weight and health need to be addressed, I'm just not sure a video game, especially on a system that encourages people to play together, is the right place to address it. The only thing worse than a machine telling you (erroneously even) that you are overweight is having it happen while surrounded by your closest friends.
