Thumbs down how many of you have holes in your teeth right now?

I got 2, so fuck it I'll have to go to the dentist sometime soon. I got one that is really tiny near the front of my mouth, and another up the back which is getting kinda large, neither hurt yet, but I guess it's best to get them fixed instead of waiting till they hurt, which is what I usually do, then I crack the shits when dentists are booked out and I'm in pain

All my teeth are in good shape.

Simply cause of the fact I had three of the fucking bastards yanked out in the past couple weeks.http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/icons/icon8.gif

I will never, ever put off going to the dentist again.

Um... I went to the dentist a few weeks ago, and he said my teeth looked great... I've had about 4 fillings, but I've had sealants put on the rest of my teeth so I don't have to worry about getting cavities in them.
I need to have one of my wisdom teeth taken out though, I've had the bottom 2 out, but they left the top 2... and now one of them is poking through really bad.

I've never really understood why people are afraid of the dentist... I had braces so I had to go to the dentist monthly in jr. high and high school and nothing really ever hurt. No, I take that back, having my wisdom teeth extracted hurt like hell... but I was on so much pain meds (an Iv plus laughing gas) I didn't feel anything until I got home.

what are sealants? I've never heard of them, are they expensive?

It's just a coating they put over your teeth, that kind of acts as a barrier against tooth decaying bacteria and stuff... I'm not sure if they're expensive or not, I got them when I was going to the community dentist center, which all I had to pay was $15 for a cleaning, and that was a part of it. That was when my mom's insurance hadn't taken affect yet at her new job... and Sarah = cheap.
I've never heard of normal dentists putting them on though... but I think that's just a conspiracy to leave you susceptible to cavities so that you'd have to come back to the dentist to get your cavities filled.

Well... I've had them for 5 years and have been cavity free. But then I brush and floss all the time too. But even when I did that before I got the sealents, I was still getting cavities up the wazoo.

oh man, i'd hate to sound like a total nutter, but i've been reading
up on fluoride in drinking water and it's scary...

the fluoride they use ain't exactly fluoride, it's actual waste concentrate
from fertilizer and aluminium production...

"Fluorine is only one captured pollutant comprising about 19% of the total product"

...and it was added to water as a response to a major problem of just what
to use this toxic shit for back in the 60's.

"The EPA and the US Public Health Service waived all testing procedures and - with the help of the American Dental Association (ADA) - encouraged cities to add the radioactive concentrate into America's drinking water as an "improved" form of fluoride"

well that's just dandy.

sure it isn't difficult, but even with proper care cavities can still easily happen, especially if you have bad genes. my grandfather had to get false teeth when he was 14 yrs old, so I'm not suprised I visit the dentist often
