I really am amazed by the number of people who spend all day posting on messageboards and yet had no friends in high school.

That said, yes, of course I went to my prom, with a girl. She was kind of a stuck up bitch though, so my buddy and I dumped our dates and hooked up with 2 other chicks.

I never went to my high school prom but i did go to my boyfriend's last year.

He had to ask me 3 times before i eventually caved in.

Didn't go either year I was able to.

My famous Senior Prom Disaster. I asked about 8 girls to my senior prom, all of them turned me down, and one of them went by herself. That should give you an indication of how high a regard I was was held in. It's not like I didn't have any friends in high school, either...it's just that girls didn't seem to want to date me. They still don't.

i went. the month leading up to the prom was social hell; all the girls i wanted to go with or even KNEW were all beginning relationships, and all my single male buddies were also beginning relationships, and in two cases i had male friends going WITH girls i wanted to go with. i felt like a great year ended horribly and i ended up going grudgingly intending to tell everyone to fuck themselves and sorta leave high school on a misanthropic note. but i ended up having more fun than most of them due to everyone's relationship being awkward, if not downright retarded, and not lasting through the summer.

I've avoided any dance since 7th grade like the plague. They're way too pretentious for me. Staying at home with Chinese takeout and DVDs sounds like a hell of a better option to me than spending loads of money to play fashion show with a bunch of blondes and football fuckups who take the dance and themselves too seriously.

I didn't go to mine mainly because by that time I disliked most of the people I had gone to school with. I was a bit awkward back then anyway and just hung out with the few good friends I had. From what I heard it sucked anyway, except for the part where my ex-boyfriend somehow broke his nose - that I would have liked to see.

I skipped my prom because no other than The Smashing Pumpkins were playing that night! Of all nights, my senior prom night. So many kids at the show were talking about how they skipped their proms to see the pumpkins.
I was supposed to go with my friend Angela to her prom the next year, but when I found out Jets To Brazil were playing that night, I basically told her no because Jets were more important.

I went to prom and I had a TERRIBLE time. I sat in a table with a bunch of people I didn't know and immediately disliked. The only thing prom was good for was to remind me that I hated 99% of the people at my high school, that my high school was a fucking ghetto, uneducated place, and that it's a good thing I was getting the fuck out.

Most of my friends or people I liked either failed a bunch of times, dropped out of school, didn't go to my stupid ghetto ass school, was older than me, or was just smart enough to opt NOT going to that stupid event. Waste of $60 or whatever insane amount of money that was.

On the other hand, I got a nice picture frame out of it and maybe in time when I get older, I might be able to fool myself into thinking I had a good time. Oh, and I took a picture and it was one of the most crappiest pictures of me, EVER.
