You might be right, but also judging from your location, that could be a pretty biased opinion

As much as I don't watch 'em, let alone attend a game (it's been a couple years), they're still my team. I still see 'em at least two years away from being a playoff team, nevermind a legit contender to win the conference. The one thing they've got goin' for 'em compared to the Nets & Knicks is that the majority of the team is young, and more importantly they'll have the most cap room in the league this summer. Granted, all the cap room in the world won't mean jack if they can't sign a big name, legitimate star player. Andre Iguodala is, at best, a very good #2 option on a team, he is by no means a franchise player. As for this summer, really it doesn't look all that promising for the Sixers, I mean, all I can think of off the top of my head is that Gilbert Arenas and Elton Brand will be available. I really wouldn't want to see 'em get Arenas, he's just a second-rate Allen Iverson as far as I'm concerned...he doesn't know a bad shot, weak defender, but unlike Iverson, he doesn't have an explosive dribble-drive to the basket. And of course Elton Brand isn't doin' anything right now due to that torn ACL.

By the way, Harris is a 6-5 point guard which is never bad, and this trade makes way more sense than the Shaq trade.

And if you want to know why NJ wants to do this, they want to tank this season to get a high draft pick. It's actually smart business, just ask Cleveland & Denver. Oh yeah and Portland...whooo talk about good drafting...

NJ would have a better chance of winning the #1 pick in the lottery this year if they kept their current pace of wins/losses; stay around 10, 15 games at most under .500. As we've seen more often than not, the teams that "tank" usually don't end up with the top pick. One thing that's frustrated me 'bout the Sixers in recent years is how they've been a poor team, but still don't get a top 10 pick. Unfortunately, that won't change this year either, seeing that NJ will likely fall off, leaving the Sixers in prime position to grab a playoff spot.

So... the machine that randomly selects a ping pong ball is biased against teams who don't try hard?

apparently stackhouse is planning on getting bought out and going back to dallas.

and yeah, it favors the mavs right now, and kidd still has 2 or 3 more nice years in him, but i think jersey knows what they're doing. the nets will go for a high pick, harris will develop well and has a chance of being a really nice player, kidd already wanted out and made it public, and maybe they'll deal carter to get younger too. it'll be interesting to see how the mavs run with kidd, the west is so stacked. all the contenders are just trying to up their teams, looks like the spurs will stick it out with their team though.

You don't need the #1 top pick to turn your franchise around. 'Melo was #3 and Wade was 4 or 5. Roy and Paul also were not #1 picks. Top fives lately are deeper, and this coming freshman class in college has a ridiculous NBA upside.

NJ should get rid of Vince Carter too but they resigned him. He'll get "injured" in a week anyway.

I don't understand why everyone in this thread is throwing the guy under a bus. Some players take longer than others to develop. I always thought he was pretty good, and you can't teach size.

As always, the Spurs take the lame way out...OMG DAMON STOUDAMIRE. HELLO HE'S FUCKING SHORT AND PROBABLY STONED.

Oh and the Pau Gasol trade is one of the most genius moves ever and talk about a fucking rip job, they sent Kwame Brown to Memphis? LOL!

Shame on the Bulls for not springing for Gasol last year. They really fucked themselves and they rightly suck right now.

Seriously...look out for those Jailblazers. In another year or two they're gonna be one of the two or three best teams in the west, especially if Oden stays healthy and lives up to his promise.

As for the Kidd trade...Kidd may be old but he's still got some miles left, unlike Shaq, and most if not all of the players that got traded to NJ are role-players. However, word on the street is Dallas will also in-fucking-clude $3 million and two future first-round draft picks in the trade...so maybe it's not as bad a deal for NJ.

Jesus Christ, shut up already. You've already established that you don't like anything I post, even when I agree with you it's always OMFG STFU or some variation because of some minor technicality in my post.

Chill out.
