Default when are we gonna see some more behind-the-scenes stuff

a new vieuphoria or documentary perhaps? even though we got all the "day in the life" and backstage residency videos i feel like those were kindof insubstantial and that the band have been very secretive throughout this whole era. not as if they've got anything to hide, but moreso because they probably just see it as a distraction. i doubt we'll see any vieuphoria-style zaniness with the new lineup, they're far too mature and responsible. in any case i'd like to see some new docu material, what do you think.

i'm not saying they haven't accomplished alot. but i think the docu videos we did see were pretty vague and didn't really give much of an insight into what the band are like with each other. i got the distinct impression that jeff and ginger felt excluded. and billy and jimmy just seem bored. the whole "backstage vibe" struck me as quiet and kind of melancholy.

it'd just draw attention to how inferior this dynamic is to the one between Billy Jimmy D'arcy James

i hate to launch into these rants about how much the band sucks today, and i know im repeating my myself, but fuck it.
i had no idea those things you mentioned (day in the life, etc) even existed, as i dont bother following the band anymore. i still do just check stuff occasionally just to see how low they're getting. so i checked out the backstage\rehearsal\morning songwriting parts on youtube, from the day in the life thing.
and i must say thats its quite hilarious how people argue so ferociously that jeff and lisa and whoever fucking else is so much more important to the band than james ever was, but in fact they're not really a part of the band as far as billy is concerned. theyre session and touring musicians. its stupifying to me that people cant see that.
billy used the most pathetic excuse in the world on the tarantula 'lo fi with as many people as possible' video only to take attention off of them;
when doing band interviews and promotion, all you ever see is billy and jimmy;
they have pretty much no say on the songwriting. its just pathetic.
it specifically amused me how lisa reponded to questions about the songwriting process. you can see billy and jimmy up there on the stage, rehearsing 'rose march', and she just smiles shyly to the interviewer and says that 'well, um, you see, heh, err.... usually billy brings the songs and just starts singing them'.
get fucking real. the most billy allows those fucks is a live solo for jeff and a keyboard prominent arrangement for a live song that lisa could play.

and once again, it demonstrated to me how right i am about everything i say about billy's songwriting and choice process that leads to its own butchering.
you see him rehearsing\writing 'rose march' in a room, just him and an acoustic, and he's singing quietly to himself - half humming, half singing - and that moment just showed me what a good song it could have been.
when listening to the studio version it just sounds like he did all that was in his power to make that song sound like the absolute worst it could sound - the vocals are so high up, and they're shitty vocals at that, AGAIN. unpassionate, lacking in almost every way, with those overdubbed 'la da da''s. its just sad.
if there's a definition of vocal noodling, in the same manner people noodle around on the guitar, its billys vocals for the past year.

*phew*
