Default Sidney Crosby is down

Sid went into the boards awkwardly in the first period vs. the Bolts and hasn't been heard from since. It looked like it may have been a knee or ankle as he went in feet first and was favoring his right leg heading off the ice. Here's hoping he's OK... it would suck for the Pens and the league if he is seriously hurt.

That might as well be the Mellon Arena in the background if he's seriously hurt.

I think I first heard the Lightning referred to as the Bolts in the first game of their inaugural season.

TSN reports a high ankle sprain. At least if he misses the All Star Game Malkin will probably get in. Somewhere neopryn is sick to his stomach.

TSN reporting Crosby is gone for appx 4 weeks. Tough blow for the Pens.

This is the Pens' third high ankle sprain this year. If he's really out for 4 weeks we're not making the playoffs.

Also, fuck Holmqvist. This guy is terrible but owns the Pens every fucking time.

Yeah man sorry to see Crosby get hurt like that. I'm just glad it wasn't a dirty play because I wouldn't want that saddled on Ranger. I still think you guys will make the playoffs just because the East is so fucking weak this year. Obviously I'm a Bolts fan but have a soft spot for the Pens and am feeling bummed to see this game play out this way.

The East may be weak but the Atlantic is fucking ridiculous, and there's a lot of games with them on the horizon.

Judging by this game at least, Malkin is the only player capable of generating offense, and he doesn't elevate the play of his linemates like Crosby does.

Did you ever get that Richards jersey? Hopefully not as I'm hearing whispers out of the Tampa press that he may be on the move. I like the guy but honestly he's floundering here and unless we get new ownership and a couple of non-AHL wingers for him his talent is being wasted.

In any case, they can't keep Malkin out of the ASG now and that is good to see. It was a travesty he was overlooked.

Nope, I still have a blank Lightning jersey but it's outdated now. Really dislike their new unis, btw. They're like plain black/white.

My Crosby Winter Classic jersey just came the other day. It's sweeet.

Fuck yeah man those are really nice. He's well past his prime but I had an urge to get a Sydor WC Jersey as he was so vital to our cup.

I'm mostly rocking my 2004 St. Louis jersey when at games in Atlanta/Raleigh but still occasionally break out the old school Brian Bradley. I want to get one of the new sweaters with 4 on it but am afraid that Vinny might bail if we don't turn things around. MTL may mortgage their future to land their great white Quebecer.

its a shame cause he probably could've avoided it if he paid attention to how he was goin into the boards - he was looking up to see where the puck was so he could jump back into the play

Yeah really. Seeing this clip he had all the time in the world to react and avoid the injury.
