(KSL News) Prosecutors filed aggravated murder charges against the man accused of killing his wife in a Lehi church parking lot.

David Ragsdale, 35, went to church yesterday and waited for his wife, Kristy.

When she arrived at the church on 1691 E. 900 North in Lehi, he approached Kristy and shot her several times at close range. She was shot in the torso, back and head.

Witnesses say at one point, he stood directly over her and continued to shoot.

The Ragsdales were in the process of getting a divorce. The couple has two young children who are now in the custody of family members.

David Ragsdale is scheduled to appear in court next week.
