it looks more like a badger than a rat. it was apparently so unfamiliar with humans that it walked right up to their camp

speak for yourself, pretzel logic. It's an amazing discovery, I think this rat might be able to fly.

i don't put much faith in people who don't think gigantic 1.4 kg rats found in mystic mountain areas are fascinating or at least somewhat interesting.

when i saw that your name was the last poster i thought it would be something along the line of "those scientists have a very simplistic and shallow understanding of the word rat".

I suppose so. I looked in the school issued biology textbook the other day cause I don't do biology but a friend of mine does and they had a graph of speed vs oxygen intake for various animals. It was a line graph. A horse requires more oxygen for lower speeds and then when it hits a high speed anaerobic systems seem to kick in cause the curve starts decreasing.

and does it mean that it requires less oxygen when it's going high speeds or just that it's too exhausted at that point to really get as much oxygen in an therefore switches on the same anaerobic systems humans have, like utilizing eh lactate

It didn't say. I brought it up at the time myself actually and aidan, the owner of the book, didn't know neither.
