I've heard old guys with dementia calling out for their mothers. They lay in their beds and beg the nurses to come help them with something or bring them a simple cup of water but eventually they beg and beg and the nurses never come and they get so thirsty it's too hard to call the nurses anymore. So they stay quiet and eventually piss and shit all over themselves and the thirst makes them wild eyed and panicky and they start begging for their mother to come take care of them because nobody else will.
