Exclamation The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

I saw this movie on MOJO the other night. It was fascinating, because its story progresses so slowly, but is just capturing enough to be worth following. The costumes and sets are wonderful. Who else has seen this, and why?

yes, as it was slightly monty-python-related, and it was 'OK'.

Hell yeah, I love that movie! I originally saw it just because it's a Terry Gilliam film and I'm a huge fan. It's not my favorite Gilliam film (that goes to Brazil) but it's visually spectacular.

Incidentally, I think D'arcy's a fan of the great Baron Munchausen IIRC.

yeah i'm a huge gilliam fan, he's a real visionary in cinema. to be honest i prefer his slicker, decidedly more "hollywood" films like Fear & Loathing and 12 Monkeys, i think they're more enjoyable to watch, but his epic fantasies are really captivating, of which i think the best is probably Brazil...gilliam is really the definition of a "quintessentially british" director. only thing i can't figure out is how he continually gets funding for his films because they have all been so insanely expensive and gone way overbudget but not that many people even go to see them, they really have more cult than mainstream appeal. everyone should see Lost in La Mancha which is a hilarious documentary about the filming of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and how various disasters forced production to shut down after only a week. its amazing.

Mark made me watch it when we first got out Netflix. I thought it was going to be silly, and it was, but it was actually really cool. I enjoyed it.

We watched that right after Thanksgiving dinner! It definitely reminded me of the Tonight Tonight video... it has Uma Thurman in it but not her giant sexy feet.

1. I didn't make bread, I delivered it.
2. I didn't get fired, the bakery went out of business.
