Whenever he's one of the acts of This American Life, I have to stop myself from throwing up to stand his voice. Good thing his material is funny.

Actually his audiobooks are great. His tone on some of his readings are hysterical and make the stories all the better. He's good at reading stories but he's so uptight that it just make me feel awkward to see such a knob on stage...I think i remember letterman interviewing him and he was telling a well rehearsed story and letterman made a quip that threw him off.

well, it was f'n hilarious. he read all new stories with the exception of one (6 to 8 black men) i had read/heard before. afterwards there was a little Q & A session which was just as entertaining as the reading, then he hung out in the lobby and signed books. i was able to chat with him briefly and he signed my program for me, as i had neglected to bring a copy of one of his books:

I read Holidays on Ice because my brother's girlfriend at the time gave me a used copy of it for Christmas.

I didn't enjoy it.
