I'm thinking about getting a 2 day ticket, but damn that's $140! I did hear a rumor that Radiohead might be the "secret" guest, though. So- I guess either I blow that money on two days of music, or get an MP3 player...we'll see

Coachella is too fucking expensive to be forced to stand in the middle of the desert, listen to 2 or 3 bands you might want to see play short sets, and pay $4 for a bottle of water.

On the first year of Coachella, the tickets were only fifty bucks a day. AND you got a free bottle of water upon entrance.

But the desert sucks at this part of the year. I used to live in that hellhole.

Hm, out of that list Gomez is the only one I don't like. Still the boring acts far outnumber the good acts, and I don't want to stand in the desert heat to wait for those good acts to play for about 15 minutes and then have to wait for another one.

Music Festivals aren't really part of the american culture at all, so before attending one that doesn't pale compared to the usual European Festivals I understand you may have such doubts

but believe me, being at a Festival like this is great

it's somehting fucking enjoyable, I mean, continuous music playing on some stage, thousands of fucking nice people (I do hate crowds, but not a modern music lovers' crowd)

It's not really something I can explain to you, you just have to experience it.
but after I was at the best Festival ever last year, it has finally become my biggest addiction

I'm heading down but only going to the Sunday show. About 25-30 of us will be camping over @ Salton Sea...great time every year.

Yes, the reason you only get festivals over there is that most of teh good bands are American, and they'd rather do one festival here and there than a full blown tour.
