Question suggestions for lower back pain

it's getting really bad. i can barely move. bending over is excruciating. i can't afford anything like a mattress pad for a bit, so what can i do in the meantime? give myself a massage? oh. and i don't have a bathtub, only a shower...
my roommate gave me some muscle relaxers last night and all they did was seriously upset my stomach...

They make these transdermal patches now for that. Taking them off must be excruciating since it's like a giant bandaid for your back, but they are supposed to soothe pain and provide heat.

Yes, heat should help, if it is muscular pain.

If that doesn't work, one of your friends is bound to be good at the art of massage.

Does your roommate have a heating pad?

Flip your mattress?

If all else fails, microwave a towel. You cannot microwave a towel for more than two minutes though.

that's a good idea, but i'm scared. the only microwave in the building is super-industrial. i'm afraid it would light on fire. but hey. anything sounds good right now.

oh goddamn. i love vicodin. maybe i could get a prescription for that? but then i'd have to pay the $8 co-pay, and i don't have an extra $8 to spend. i guess if i called my dad...god. i hate being broke.

i hate a lot of things right now. i just need to vent. i'll be done soon.

If you have an oven, you could also bake the towel. Just for a minute or two on loooow heat.

You could sell some pills to cover the co-pay easily. Thank god my pain is on and off and not constant, so I can usually spare some pills.

Thumbs down

Um!
I fucking hate to say this, but exercising and being physical helps. Like maybe exercise for about half an hour or sometihng, running, maybe. Biking? 100 crunches on the hard floor.

I hate to say it, because I have problems with my back all the time, and I know what I should do about it, but I'm too lazy to do so or I don't have time. And I fucking HATE exercising in general. But that's what happens (at least to me) when I don't do it.

Other temporary solution is a massage. Sometimes I try to bend over backwards or lay on a pillow (the pillow being horizontal and your body vertical) on the bed. Because sometimes the bed makes my back hurts, especially if there's no support.

Try not to have so much damn sex.

Sorry, I know what you're talking about, and it sucks. I mean...oh god, I'll just go now.

yeah, my mattress is shitty. i normally do sit-ups, but my back just hurts too much lately. should i go on a treadmill? would that help?

and yeah. thanks for the advice. from everyone.
