Thumbs up The ultimate poor college student food.

Microwaved potatoes. Salt, pepper, and a little bit of sour cream.

= Yumminess.

You cannot go wrong with Ramen noodles. They're like 10 packs for a dollar around these parts.

I'll vomit if I eat anymore ramen of that kind.

It's all about the Nong Shim ramen that comes in a bowl. I love that stuff. But I cannot afford it now.

i've been living off instant noodles and popcorn all year, and it's not even a poor college student thing, just a lazy one.

I'm actually too lazy to cook soup sometimes, which is why sandwhiches consist on my main diet for the quick and dirty and easy reason. I throw some frozen chicken / hamburgers on the George Foreman once in awhile, but that takes awhile.

I can't remember the last time I had something "On the side".

Personally, I'd disqualify this b/c of the use of condiments. What the hell kind of lazy college student are you?

My poor college student staples are baked potatoes, spaghetti, and tuna. I eat ramen when there's nothing else left.

About the ramen being unhealthy, it's not that it's fatty, it's all the sodium that does you in. Always remember that simple carbs, sugar, and sodium are as bad if not worse than fat. You can cut down on a lot of that sodium in ramen by cooking it in the broth then dumping it out and just eating the noodles when you're done.

same out here. i used to have a shelf full of them in the kitchen.

if you have to go cheap though, it's so easy to make pasta. making your own sauce is cheap, and the pasta itself is a buck or so, and it's like 4-5 meals.

....except that the USDA recommends a "low fat" diet to be 65 grams of fat per day. Your diet is just going to fuck up your metobolism.. but enjoy!

Question

Are Ramen noodles the same as Ichiban noodles?
We used to call them "life-giving noodles" when I was in college.

that's if you're not trying to lose weight. 65 grams of a 2000 calorie diet. if you want to lose 2 pounds a week, you have to lower it to about 30 grams a day. it is recommended not to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week.

plus, the 2000 calorie diet is for men and women of average height and build. if you're slightly shorter or thinner, you need proportionally less. 65 grams of fat is a lot of fat per day to consume.
