Default Awesome

Yeah, babeh.

I fought one of those puppies back in 1998 in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. We had this little cabin with a loft area, and I found it in the loft. Scared the fuck out of me. I went to the store, and brought a can of insect spray, and pretty much used the while can on it. It ended up covered in white foam, but was still wiggling - it still didn't die, so I got a stick and flicked against the wall until bits of it fell off. It made some cool-ass thumps.

Later, when we got back to Noo Zealand, I read something about it - apparently Huntsmen always travel in PAIRS!!!!

I dunno how I stand on spiders. I think they're really cool with all their eyes and their place in nature in shit, but when you've got a poisoness camel spider with a 4-inch leg span chasing after you cos you entered it's territory (which also happens to be the abyss otherwise known as underneath your bed.......) eh...i'll pass. most of those pics are fuckin creepy.

I only did it because it scared the shit out of me...spiders should be in the garden, not in the house.

But they aren't insects, they're arachnids. So yes they are scary.

If people see a camel spider, do not try to get rid of it themselves, said officials with 379th Expeditionary Medical Group public health section at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The spider will move on its own; camel spiders do not spend much time in one place.

Chemicals such as bug sprays are not recommended as they most likely will do nothing but make the spider angry, said officials.

Officials also warn against trying to capture a camel spider to serve as a pet or mascot. Avoidance is the key.
