Question usb trouble in win2000

umm well i'm not sure if anyone can help me, but my usb's perfectly set up in the bias, anything i plug into the usb port runs up until windows 2000 installs the driver for it. The driver seems to be the wrong driver and every time it installs whatever is on the usb shuts down. The problem is I can't stop windows from automatically installing what it thinks is the proper driver. How do I get this asshole to stop trying to put the wrong driver on and fucking with the usb settings?

if you have the driver on a disk maybe try installing the proper driver after the auto-install runs?

i had a problem that was somewhat like that a long time ago... try updating your bios and/or installing service packs for win2k or something.
posting your system specs would help. what exactly are you trying to connect?
