no, no. he's very much a steak and potatoes man.

i'm trying to cook healthier and i decided i wanted to try cutting meat out of my diet to do so.

i'm actually going to have to convince him to eat the foods i want to prepare. he was iffy on some of the recipes but i think he's willing to at least try them if i make them.

Oh yum. I don't even know what popcorn chicken is, but in my experience, trying to do something to tofu that is normally done to chicken usually results in DELICIOUS.

Popcorn anything is usually just popcorn sized bits of fried whatever.
Yummy bite sized, fried, seasoned tofu. Mmmmm.

I still have never been to a Trader Joe's, but I hear amazing things about them. My hometown is gearing up to get one, I guess. I get the feeling that the day I do set foot into one it'll just be a big let down 'cause it's been so hyped up.

You can't overhype frozen pineapple tidbits. I was lost when they were gone.

manliness is tied to what you eat. it's a fact.

also a fact: if you freeze and thaw firm tofu before cooking with it it will develop a more chicken-like texture

I don't know about that first "fact," but that second one is spot on.

That does sound yummy, but I have to ask the horribly obvious question-- can't you just freeze your own pineapple? Or did they put it with something that made it extra tasty?

It costs $1.69, which is cheaper than buying a whole pineapple and less work and I know I am getting consistently good pineapple every time. Plus, mixed with frozen strawberries, it's lunch for a week.

Dang, that is cheap! And yeah, cutting up a fresh pineapple is a serious pain in the butt, only to be endured when you have the time (and the sharp knives!).

distance-- tempeh tacos are one of my faaaves.
