i have avoided about 345 dollars from golds gym and 250 from sprint for almost 5 years. i read that the larger the amount the longer before they get rid of it, at which point the company has to buy it back (the debt you owe) and cut their losses.

It could probably fuck up your credit. They probably have your SSN and will report it to the credit agencies.

Yeah you can avoid these collection notices forever as long as you don't plan on purchasing anything more expensive than you can pay cash for.

If that's the case you should get on top of it. It might simply be a bill for electricity after you moved out of a place and you can resolve it with proof that you vacated before the service dates. I had this happen once as people tried to mooch off me on an apartment I had moved out of even though I called the power company three times to cancel the power on the joint.

In any case figure it out as you don't want this little snafu to screw your otherwise good credit.

You can pay every one of your bills except for a tiny utilty bill and it can fuck over your credit..

the sooner you call to settle or figure out what they want, the better it is for your sanity and credit.

it is better to put off old utility charges on a credit card than to not pay at all...in fact most credit card companies, as long as you make some payment (doesn't even have to be the min payment) will take that as a sign of good faith and it doesn't affect negatively as much on your credit score...

Usually they just write it off as not worth collecting.

Ignore it. They're spending more money trying to get the cash than they would ever collect.

Netphoria appears conflicted on this matter. You will have to do some soul searching and ask yourself, what do I think is the correct course of action.

i stopped using my sprint phone like 2 months before the contract ended, when i got t-mobile

i was a lazy fool and didn't pay them so long that collections sent me something for $150 something.

ahaha, i guess i need to cancel sprint and pay em, eh?

I've moved around so much and changed my number so many times that most of my debts have just given up. Even though my credit sucks, I'm just glad the harrasment has stopped.

yay, i called and cancelled. i only had to be asked why i'm leaving them about 4 times.

i just told him, look i've already had t-mobile for three months. i dont care if you can offer me "probably a better deal than t-mobile can"

they're gonna send me the final bill. $195
