No, that version doesn't have the extras I'm talking about. As far as I can tell there isn't a PAL version of the limited edition (yet). That one has a couple interviews my disc doesn't have but does not have:
*More Things That Happened (another 1.5 hrs of the movie)
*Ballerina (short film)
*Quinoa (short film)
*Lynch 2 (behind the scenes)
*Stories (David talks)
and then there are stills and trailers and all.

Oh, I know. I only added it for the roll as I pronounced "DVDdeed," and for the subtle jab since Inland made him feel dumb enough to be angry.

It didn't really make me feel dumb... more like insulted. I've watched basically all of Lynch's films and they're all bizarre and challenging to some degree, but I always felt, contrary to his critics, that he had a certain level of respect for his audience.

Inland Empire is so impenetrable and incomprehensible to the point where David Lynch might as well have made the movie solely for himself. That, in my opinion, is a terrible waste of the medium.

Your categorization of my dislike of the film, by the way, is so trite that it's painful. I get it... the blurred line between reality and fantasy, the fragile nature of the concept of self, blah, blah, blah... Lynch takes an interesting idea and beats you over the head with an endless, hideous, pointless mess of a film.

Not a single person in this thread has given a reason why they think this film is any good.

Why would I waste time convincing you it's good. If you don't like it, that's fine. It's a difficult movie. Some people love it, some people hate it.

I'm not necessarily saying that you should convince me. You probably wouldn't anyway, and I admit that the way I have conveyed my opinion probably doesn't encourage you to try.

My point is that no one seems to stick up for this movie in any meaningful way. The comments in favor of this film are always along the lines of "masterpiece" and "Lynch is a genius!" Most of his fans seem to give him a pass regardless of how terrible his material is at times. In fact, it's hard for me to imagine how he could have made a worse film.

It just tends to make me suspicious of people who say they absolutely love this movie. I'd like to hear a reason why.

Should the reason be drenched in hyperbole too? Sorry, I don't waste my time trying to be rational with people who are asinine enough to declare something like, "it's the worst f-n movie ever and you suck for liking it!" Surely you don't expect me to see that response and think you're an intelligent person worth reasoning with? I don't mind if you don't like the movie, I don't mind if you feel insulted because you felt it was incomprehensible and most of all I don't care how suspicious you are of me enjoying it.

First, Inland Empire made him feel dumb and insulted and he hates all the people who didn't feel dumb and insulted. Now, I'm lame for not caring what he thinks. Brilliant. I love you kids.

Oh Jesus dude... this is Netphoria, come on. I don't honestly think that someone sucks for liking a movie. I don't know Turalyon; I don't have any personal animosity towards him, or you.

I've already laid out several rational reasons why I think it's a terrible movie. Don't respond for my sake, do it for the several people here who haven't seen the movie and who might actually take up your own recommendation of buying the DVD if you actually explain why it's worth watching four hours of extras.

You're lame because you won't defend your beliefs, not because you like a movie.

I didn't claim I thought you were serious. But why would I suddenly switch to a reasonable sincerity when you're working in a "Netphoria, dude" context? Like I said, if you want a bunch of hyperbole -- fine. I can spew prattle, too. I don't care to give reasons why I like the movie and I don't expect someone who knows nothing of the movie to open an "ATTN: David Lynch Fans" thread looking to be persuaded. I mentioned for the people already aware of the movie that the DVD has the extras. The idea that you go in a thread for "fans," to say you hate it and everyone who doesn't hate it and then expect people to "defend [their] beliefs" is about as "lame" as it gets.

Whatever. I'm a fan. I gave my opinion, albeit in an inflammatory fashion. People don't want to defend it, that's fine. I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to either.

I agree that Lynch has an uncanny ability to create mood in scenes. This is true for all his movies. With the others though, there has always been some weight to the mood. With Inland Empire, someone could open a door and there could be literally anything, or anyone, on the other side. That type of thing happened so many times that I lost count. For me, there was no personal investment in what was going to happen for this reason.

The acting is much more a matter of taste, I suppose. People were praising Laura Dern for her performance. I like her as an actress, but here she is mostly running and screaming and crying, etc. I know that to a certain degree, things were out of her hands as an actress, because she didn't understand what was going on from scene to scene while they were filming.

I suppose I would've liked her performance more if I cared about her character at all. After a while I just found her constant turmoil to be grating on the nerves.

The best shot of the movie though is the one where she runs up to the camera and screams. Truly terrifying, I'll give you that.

so im picking up that this film is true to the formula and has 1. a shock scene 2. nudity and sex 3. violence and gore and 4. disjointed plot

Finally saw this last night. Really enjoyed it. While of course there were familiar themes from previous work It was great to experience some new tones in the film. I loved the DV feel and texture and thought it definitely worked for the benefit of the film. To me it made every scene seem dangerous and at times was quite brave in its starkness. Outstanding performances of course.
