so, i like sister 1. at lunch yesterday we were sitting along one side of a table in this order:

sister 3, friend, me, sister 2, sister 1.

friend leaves the table for a couple minutes and sister 3 says down the table "he likes you!" - i assume to sister 1 but it may have been to sister 2.

the use of "he" makes me think it 1) must not be me and 2) they must have been talking about "he" earlier. otherwise, if she was referring to me, hello lack of tact on sister 1's part. i do wonder why it was said in english, when it would be natural for sisters 1 thru 3 to talk to each other in their native tongue - they've just moved here recently.

sister 2 sat herself down next to me at lunch and also in the studio at one point - but i don't know if that earns her a point in the triangle or not, its still early days, but it would certainly add another angle to things (HA! see what i did there?). that would make it a square i guess.

friend has a far better chance at sister 1 than me, as he speaks the same language as sister 1, and is all round cooler and better looking. my only selling points are that i am a sound engineer, i have recordings, and that i'm in a buttrock band.

ha, no. sister 2 and 3 are, however. which adds the 'grade school' element to things.

sister 1 as far as i know has already graduated from college, friend would be in his late 20s and has a successful career designing skate shoes, and i'm in the third year of my degree, after having worked for a year teaching the first year students of the same degree

i do the same thing too, i analyse in my head one sentence, or one look trying to decipher what their feelings are.... i'm hopeless at it though, doesn't get me anywhere.

I know what you mean, my sister's fiance had a thing for me and consequently broke off their wedding. It's a horrible situation to be put in. It's just now starting to become normal again between her ex fiance and I.
