i'm sure you like tomatoes. pepperoni + tomatoes go well together but the only thing is that tomatos can make the pizza wet if someone's careless.

Tomatoes on a pizza are soooo good. The trick is to slice them thin-ish and let them sit on a stack of paper towels or a clean towel before you put them on. TBH, I don't know why I love this topping so much, considering I rarely eat tomatoes under any other circumstance.

try semi-dried tomatoes if you can find them. they don't dry out in the oven or make the pizza overly moist like raw tomatoes can, and they don't overwhelm the other flavours like sundried tomatoes are wont to do

Howcome they don't dry out in the oven compared to fresh tomatoes? You'd think they'd dry out much much more.

You're thinking of sundried tomatoes, Brendo. Though, admittedly, I've never heard of "semi-dried" tomatoes.

im fairly sure it's the same process though - you just dont dry them for so long with the semi-dried. they're not as strong in flavour which is a good thing.

People in school eat tomatoes raw without slicing them or anything, just like you would with an apple. I can't do the same. I eat a heap of cherry tomatoes every day though. Those are the bestest

tomatoes are really hit or miss i find, they're either tasteless and kinda floury, or they're sex in fruit form.

There are these funny ones that are half green half red and all wonky looking but they're real nice tasting.

nothing beats homegrown tomatoes. we've got a "cage" in the backyard around the plants, to keep the possums and rats out. i think we're growing red capsicums in there too.

I knew a guy who did that. He also kept chickens but one day the rooster went nuts and they had to kill him.

By golly, you're right!

Semi Dried Tomatoes

A quick, simple recipe for your own Semi-Dried Tomatoes.

You need:
Roma Tomatoes
Salt
Sugar
Your Favourite Herbs
Olive Oil

Method:
Sue says you should first cut the Roma tomatoes (the best variety to use for this recipe)in half lengthways and seed them.

Place them on a baking tray skin down and salt, sugar and olive oil them to taste and sprinkle with your favourite herbs (oregano, thyme, basil etc).

Place them in the oven at 150 degrees celcius until fully roasted.

The next morning you can put them in containers a little olive oil between the layers (if you desire).

They taste great in salads.
