the idea is that you can push buttons to access a menu on the machine. like 1 2 3 4 opens the menu and then 5 7 2 might show how much money is in the machine or 7 8 1 might show how many cokes or give you a coke or whatever

the menu is different for each model of machine so you have to take one of those videos and then use the trick on an identical looking machine. that guy is saying you took the combination from the wrong kind of machine. i dont know if the trick really works, but even if it does, you have to have the right kind of machine and ive read that for different kinds you cant even get it to give you anything free, you can just see how much change is in it or whatever, the idea being if there was over 20$ it might be worth your time to run into it with a pickup
