We've done lots of handwriting posts, here's another spin on it. How to people here type?

uhm, with most of my fingers but not on the "home keys" or anything like that...

the "proper" way with the fingers on the home keys and everything. I don't see how people can hunt and peck...I've even tried it but it takes so incredibly long to find the keys for some reason :erm

i type 88 wpm minimum... i took a semester of typing back in high school. best class i ever took.

i'm only in the mid-70's for wpm. used to be in the 80-90's but it's been a steady decline since my computer use has been more and more for programming.

I do the homerow thing, I learned it in 9th grade. I am not sure aboot my WPM, but I think I can type pretty fast.

I use all my fingers and kinda use the "home row" thing for the most part, but its pretty messy, but I type pretty efficiently. I just know where all they keys are, so whatever finger happens to be closest at the moment, I suppose.

Index and middle finger on each hand. 110+ wpm.

Uhhhh. I use homekeys and I type pretty well. The nice and proper way to do it. My average is only 50wpm. I type way faster than I write.

How come Random Female, jczeroman, and zero bullet type so much faster than me? Jesus. Go to http://www.typingmaster.com and download a free demo, take the typing test on the demo, and tell me how fast you guys type. Because according to them, my average is around 50 words per minute.

I rarely use anything other than my right index finger and my left index and middle finger. Don't know why. You'd think I'd be able to use more of the fingers on my right hand than on my left because I'm right-handed. I guess.

But yeah....And I think I usually type around 60-70 WPM.

I use the home row method except for the number keys because I can never find them that way.

Primarily I just use my index fingers for everything except the left thumb to space and left ring (I think it's called) for shift, and ring on my right for backspace and enter. Occasionally both middle fingers come into play as well.

We took a typing course for 3 weeks as part of our swing. I think it's to the point with me that I'm so used to this that I don't think I can change. Can't do that home row thing at all, though I'm sure it'd probably help a lot. But I average about 50-80 wpm so it's no big deal.

I don't even know what homekeys is, would someone care to enlighten me?

With that test I average 100-105wpm @ 95% accuracy.

I'm a little bit quicker when I'm typing from my brain and not from something I'm trying to read
