Red face Creepy people at the record store that get all excited at what I'm looking at

(uh, sorry if this applies to anyone here)

yeah, so today I was at the record store, just browsing around. I happened to pick up R.E.M.'s "Up", just to look at it (for some reason, I always look at the albums I already have when I'm in the record store). This girl standing near me goes "OhmyGODIlovethatalbumyouhavetogetitlistentotrackfo urit'saboutfridaynightandthat'stodayit'ssoamazing" all in one breath. I felt my face get all red and didn't know what to say, so I just said "uh, I already have it" and slowly backed away. this always seems to happen to me. once I glanced at a CD (it was a Bright Eyes CD) and someone actually came and tracked me down five minutes later and said "did you just look at that bright eyes cd? I love them, you HAVE to buy it".

I don't know, those people just creep me out.

i think it's odd in a good way.
i believe i've been on both ends at some time or another. but i guess i usually make conversation with the people at the front, usually "have you heard this yet?"

one time i bought a Deadsy CD and the guy at the counter told me it was really good. Ryan Patrick snickered because he thought the guy was messing with me, but the guy was serious.
it was an akward moment. ryan is mean to people sometimes.

I did that to someone once when they were looking at siamese dream. not so intense, though.

"that's a great album. GREAT"

*whisper* get it...get it..

he didn't get it. It was used, too. $5 and he didnt get it. fucker.

i remember one time i was selling some used cd's to this record store, and one of them was this awful "cake" album.. and this girl walks by, and was like "are you SURE you want to sell that?! OH MY GOD! that is like my favorite album ever! it hasn't left my car in like 2 years. oh my god, you have to keep that."

i sold it

I think that would be kind of fun. As long as they weren't creepy-looking!

I'm too shy to ever actually do that though.

well, it's not like it's creepy EVERY time. I like it when the clerk compliments me on my purchase, but there's those really weird people that just jump on me. that freaks me out.

when i bought Moon and Antarctica, the guy who rang it up was like, "this album sucks. isaac brock should die. $15.65 is your total. thanks."

and i was confused.

i'm sorry, but it's not cool if you work at a record store and make recommendations to people who don't seek your advice. unless you're working at blockbuster or sam goody in the mall, the rule is: do not speak until spoken to. it is okay, however, to make comments while ringing people up.

I love it when the cashier talks to me about my purchase especially when it's Pumpkins. Once I told this guy who had the zwan album "good choice" or something stupid like that and he just kind of looked at me and walked off. heh. But I don't know, it's sort of neat when people are that passionate about something.

I met a friend that way once. I was in Maryland, and I was buying headphones in the Camelot music in the mall. Naturally I had to look in the SP section. While I was doing that, this really neat girl who declared that they were her favorite band and I started talking. Yo La Tengo came up, we agreed, and then it was love. But then I left and was smokin Cali weed soon after.
